Privacy policy

Your records stay on your phone.

Effective 10 October 2026. Applies to the RepArc app for Android and iPhone, version 0.4.11 and later.

The short version

What the app stores on your phone

Workouts (exercises, sets, weights, reps, times, and rests), training plans, meals and foods you log, nutrition targets, body weight and other measurements you enter, and app settings. This data stays in the app's private storage on your phone. It is protected by your phone's own storage protection, so protect your phone with a passcode.

Health Connect and Apple Health

Health access is off until you switch on a feature in Me → Health apps. RepArc then asks for one data type at a time.

Health data stays on your phone. RepArc does not send it to us or to any server, does not use it for ads, and does not sell or transfer it to anyone. It is used only to show you your own training and food records. RepArc's use of information received from Health Connect follows Google Play's Health Connect Permissions policy, including its Limited Use requirements. You can turn off access at any time in Me → Health apps or in your phone's Health Connect or Health settings. RepArc does not ask Health Connect or Apple Health for heart rate, sleep, location, or clinical records.

Runs, walks, and rides (GPS)

When you start a run, walk, or ride, RepArc asks for your location "while using the app". It uses GPS only while an activity records, to measure distance, pace, and the route. On Android a notification shows the whole time; on iPhone the blue location indicator shows. RepArc never asks for location "all the time" and does not track you at any other time.

Routes are saved on your phone only. RepArc does not send them to us or to any server. They leave the phone only in a backup or an export you make. An export for an AI app leaves routes out unless you include them.

Maps: to show a route on a map, the app loads map images from MapTiler (MapTiler AG, Switzerland), made from OpenStreetMap data. To send the right images, MapTiler sees which map area is on your screen, the time, and your IP address, as any website would. The app sends MapTiler nothing else: no account, no route, and no health data. See MapTiler's privacy policy at maptiler.com/privacy-policy.

Live steps

If you turn on Live steps in Me → Health apps, RepArc reads your phone's step sensor while the app is open, so today's steps count up as you walk. This needs the "Physical activity" permission on Android or "Motion & Fitness" on iPhone. The count is added to the total from Health Connect or Apple Health on the screen only. It is not saved, not sent anywhere, and stops when you leave the app or turn the switch off. With the same permission, the phone tells RepArc when you are in a vehicle or on a bike, so road bumps are not counted as steps. That too stays on the phone and is not saved.

Notifications and alarms

During a guided workout, RepArc can show the rest timer and set cues on the lock screen. On Android it can ask for the "Alarms & reminders" permission so these cues arrive on time. These notifications are made on the phone and send nothing anywhere.

AI connections (optional)

AI connections are off until you turn one on, for a time you choose. When one is on, an AI app you connect (for example Claude or ChatGPT) can ask RepArc questions and gets answers only from the data types you switched on. That AI provider then receives those answers, under its own privacy policy. AI suggestions are saved only after you approve them. The Wi-Fi connection works on your local network. The online gateway runs in your own Vercel account: it keeps no records, and questions and answers pass through it encrypted with your key and expire within a minute.

Backups

Your phone's own backup (Google or iCloud) can include RepArc's database, under your Google or Apple account. You can also save a backup file encrypted with a passphrase you choose. AI and health switches are not restored on a new phone.

Updates

The Google Play version gets its updates from Google Play. The test version from our GitHub page checks GitHub once a day for a newer release; that check sends no records or device data, and GitHub sees your IP address as with any website.

Your choices and deleting your data

You can export all your records or delete them in Me → Export or delete. Uninstalling the app deletes the data on the phone. Because we hold no copy of your data, there is nothing for us to delete on a server, and there is no account to close. Copies you made yourself (backups, exports, or data you allowed a health app or AI app to receive) are managed in those places.

Children

RepArc is meant for adults and is not directed at children under 16.

Not medical advice

RepArc records fitness and food information. It is not a medical service and does not give medical or diet treatment advice.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date before the app changes how it handles data. For questions about privacy, contact us on our project page.
