05 FAQ

Quick answers.

Is Latch free?

Yes. Latch is free and open source (GNU AGPL-3.0). The relay runs on a free Vercel account or on your own server.

Which AI apps work?

Each app that supports remote MCP servers: Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, and more.

Does a Latch company see my screen?

No. Latch has no server in the middle. Your phone connects only to your own relay.

How do I stop the AI?

Tap the red Stop button. It stays on the screen during each session. Each session also stops after 15 to 120 minutes.

How do I know if the AI or I did something?

Open Activity in the Latch app. Each line shows AI, You, or Latch.

Can I build my own version?

Yes, under the GNU AGPL-3.0. Publish your source code, keep the credit “Based on Latch by Aspersh Upadhyay”, and use your own name and logo.

Does Latch work on iPhone?

Not yet. iOS does not let one app operate other apps.

Android says “App blocked” or “Restricted setting”.

That is normal for apps installed from a file. The setup guide shows the taps for each phone brand.
